What am I buying?

When you buy gold and silver through your dashboard, you will own a specific, allocated weight of .999+ gold or silver held in low premium, large bar form (silver 1,000 oz and gold kilo bars).

Silver purchases are measured in ounces. With each  purchase, you will see the total ounces that are being added to your account.

Gold purchases are measured in grains so that you receive very precise quantities of gold in your account. With each  purchase, you will see the total gold grains that are being added to your account (to calculate gold grains to ounces, divide the displayed gold grains by 480).

If you wish, you can exchange your holdings for specific items (such as smaller bars and coins) and request a delivery to your home.

Platinum works a little differently. With each purchase, you will own a specific weight of a .999+ 1 oz. bar, which is the same item that you would take delivery of if you choose to do so. There is no need to convert them to a smaller item.
